Using the Files App to Stay Organized
Dylan Stewart, The MacWhisperer, showcased Apple’s Built-in Files app as a central hub for data synchronization and interconnectivity across devices.
H showed how to move through the 'recently,’ ‘shared,’ and 'browse' tabs, emphasized the importance of organizing files with descriptive tag names, and demonstrated how to connect seamlessly to additional cloud storage services like iCloud, Dropbox, and Google Drive.
Scanning and Signing Documents
Dylan illustrated how to use the Files app for document scanning and signing and how to optimize cloud storage to keep everything in sync across devices. Dylan encouraged using the Files App for scanning and annotating documents and discussed the benefits of starting with the end in mind when creating new folders.
He also highlighted the importance of using these tools across various Apple devices to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
Q&A Session:
Dylan concluded the workshop with an engaging Q&A session, addressing a diverse range of topics. From smart photo management to file sharing, deleting duplicates in the Photos app, and managing large files with non-Apple users, Dylan provided valuable insights. He introduced a simple yet effective five-category system, the 5 Folder Fix, for efficient organization of digital files and Photos.
He also offered guidance on syncing desktops across multiple devices using iCloud Drive and answered technical queries about password protection and smart folders.
The session equipped participants with practical strategies to enhance productivity and maintain digital organization.
